New products: AADFA continues to change the face of Dentistry!

Since launching Botox and Dermal Filler training specifically for dentists across Australia and New Zealand 3 years ago, the Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics has trained over 850 practitioners.

Now holding regular courses in 6 countries across the region, AADFA recently launched the “FACE” module. FACE introduces dentists to the concept of expanding their services into skin rejuvenation such as chemical peels, laser resurfacing and even the best topical skincare products to sell to patients.

“The FACE course is breaking new ground in dentistry”, says Dr Myles Holt, AADFA Director. “In the face of a tougher, more competitive market, a dentists’ ability to adapt their practice to changing times will be crucial to continued growth and success. The best way to achieve this is through service diversification.”

Dr Holt says that the facial aesthetic market is booming while traditional dentistry is taking a hit and dentists are primed to rise to the top. “Dentists are among the best health practitioners to be offering these services to patients – it makes great business sense but also ensures patients receive care from highly trained professionals they already trust in what continues to be a poorly regulated industry”.

While some dentists may question such a deviation from tradition, patients seem more open to the concept with 85 per cent of readers polled in Madison Magazine reporting they would be happy for their dentist to provide facial aesthetic services.
