Throughout 2019, Invisalign Australia has continued its focus on making things better for practitioners. Accompanying a range of continuous improvements, three major developments have significantly changed the service offering in the ANZ market. Specifically the launch of a consumer-facing Invisalign Store in Sydney’s CBD; the opening of a bespoke doctor training facility in Greenwich, Sydney; and a significant revamp of training for new Invisalign Providers.

The recently opened Invisalign Centre is located at 350 George Street in Sydney and brings the Invisalign brand directly to consumers, allowing them to ‘browse’, ask questions, and learn about the benefits of Invisalign treatment. The Centre then connects those consumers who are ready to move forward with treatment to providers in the area of the patient’s choice, using the Invisalign Doctor Locator (similar to the service offered by the company’s Smile Concierge).

The Centre is an exciting development for both doctors and patients as it allows consumers to familiarise themselves with both the Invisalign product and treatment journey. Consumers then arrive in the practices of providers with a greater understanding of and readiness to commit to treatment. During their visit consumers can:

  • Browse, ask questions, and learn about the benefits of teeth straightening with Invisalign treatment
  • Have an interactive and educational experience highlighting how the integration of iTero scanners into the Invisalign treatment work flow results in better patient outcomes
  • Understand more about Invisalign aligners, their materials, and how they look and feel
  • Have a private Smile Discussion to learn what they can expect from the Invisalign treatment journey
  • Be connected to their Invisalign doctor of choice and preferred clinic to determine if they are a good candidate for Invisalign treatment.

Asia Pacific Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Align Technology, Julie Tay, said, “We have spent over $100 million annually in global consumer marketing programs and advertising to raise awareness of the Invisalign brand and to deliver programs that motivate consumers to seek Invisalign treatment from a doctor. The Invisalign Centre in Sydney is one of the many consumer marketing initiatives Align is pursuing as part of its strategy to educate and engage consumers and to connect them with Invisalign providers.”

For doctors across ANZ, the company has opened the bespoke Training Centre, a major facility designed to educate and equip providers with the company’s latest orthodontic products. The Sydney-based Training Centre provides training, clinical education programs and process demonstrations that highlight the benefits available to doctors who adopt and integrate the company’s innovative technology and treatment options into their practices.

2019 also marked a new approach to training for Invisalign Providers, with Invisalign Australia’s training courses separated into two portfolios: the Invisalign Go training course, specifically for dentists with little to no orthodontic experience, delivered by Henry Schein; and the Invisalign Fundamentals training course for those with orthodontic experience, now delivered at the Invisalign Training Centre.  Each course is designed to offer the right level of knowledge for doctors to deliver the best patient outcomes using the appropriate Invisalign product, in addition to support in getting started with initial cases. Doctors also benefit from the updated course formats, which have been streamlined to reduce the amount of time spent out of practice.

It’s thought this revamp of Invisalign Australia will be a big boost to the company, particularly with their increase in consumer engagement. For any Australian companies who feel like their business strategy is lacking, Orange Squid is a Melbourne-based innovation consulting firm who will help organisations by teaching them how to help their business flourish; ensuring they stay up to date with any new trends and keeping them engaged with their consumers.

Any practitioners who are interested in becoming an Invisalign Provider, through Invisalign Go or Invisalign Fundamentals training can register their details at invisalign-doctor.com.au/become-provider to be contacted and registered for a suitable training course.
