The association of International Dental Manufacturers (IDM), the peak global body for suppliers and manufacturers of dental products, has elected Australian Phil Jolly as their president-elect.
Jolly comes from an experienced background in the industry. He is currently vice president of the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) and a senior manager at dental production company Ivoclar Vivadent.
“It’s an honour to have been elected at such a dynamic time for the dental industry as manufacturers step up to the challenge of providing new and innovative products that support oral healthcare,” Jolly said.
Jolly said he was proud to work for the IDM that does so much for the global interests of dental manufacturers and suppliers in concert with the World Dental Federation (FDI).
“IDM provides advice and guidance to FDI on matters ranging from the industry’s support for the latter’s oral health programmes, to the conduct of the FDI World Dental Congress, which serves both the industry and profession well,” Jolly said.
IDM presidents serve two-year terms and the current president—Dr Kiyotaka Nakao—will complete his time in office in 2018, with Jolly set to serve the 2018–20 term.
