The HEINE Loupe story—on a continuous path of improvement

A brief history

loupesIn 1946 our founder, Helmut A. Heine, started HEINE Optotechnik with one goal in mind; to build the highest quality diagnostic instruments available in the world. It was his belief that the highest quality instruments will always best support the healthcare professional in making the earliest and most accurate diagnosis.

Today, celebrating over 70 years of manufacturing excellence, and now under the leadership of Oliver Heine (grandson to the founder), HEINE still remains true to these founding principles.

Building on a strong reputation

Our expertise has always been with optics and illumination, and at the heart of any loupe system is exactly this: optics and illumination.

A pair of HEINE loupes begins its life as a silica glass block. From there it is quality tested, cut to size and sent through numerous grinding and polishing processes, paying particular attention to being micrometre perfect. After further quality testing and multi-coating finishes applied, these optics are then hand assembled, mounted onto a bracket and ‘tuned’ for optimal performance.

The resulting finished product is a loupe that provides high resolution images, free from distortion and glare, with exceptional depth of field and field of view. All these elements lead to a loupe system that is comfortable and intuitive to wear from the moment they are put on.

Complete customisation

loupesAt HEINE, we understand that each loupe user has a unique working environment, and feel strongly about providing a system that allows for complete customisation to adapt to each situation. For this reason, we are immensely proud of our current loupe line-up which caters to the needs of dentists, hygienists, dental specialists and oral surgeons.

Beginning with the choice of headband or frame, you work down the list of magnification options (2.5x through to 6x), working distances, additional LEDHQ light with wireless or wired battery options and other accessories. By the end, the product you have is something that truly suits your needs, allowing for the best possible patient outcomes.

The future looks ‘BRIGHT’

Still investing heavily into research and development, we continue to look for ways to improve our loupe systems to match the increasingly demanding working environments they are used in.

loupesOur latest innovations include:

The new LoupeLight 2, with improved SC-2 connection cord offering 55,000 LUX of light, LEDHQ technology for optimal colour rendering, accurate adjustment of light and homogenous illumination field. Designed to provide truly shadow-free and co-axial lighting.

The new mPack mini battery pack with USB charging system is 70 per cent smaller and 70 per cent lighter than its predecessor offering greater flexibility, while still maintaining a typical operating time of nine hours.

These, coupled with our existing range of HR Loupes and ML4 headlight is the reason HEINE is most trusted by dentists and ENT specialists.
