Align Technology, Inc. has introduced two new iTero Intraoral scanning systems to their suite of technologies, which will be available to general practitioner dentists and orthodontists in Australia and New Zealand from 1 July 2018.

The iTero Element® 2 will bring further innovation to visualisation, providing a slim 21.5″ monitor and 16:9 widescreen viewing format with faster processing and clearer imaging that will better help patients visualise their new smiles.

The second introduction to the iTero suite, is the iTero Element Flex, which is a wand-only system allowing for quick and easy transport between offices, enabling GPs and orthodontists the ability to perform full-arch scans outside the practice.

“Helping doctors and their patients through new and better solutions is at the core of Align Technology’s offering, so we’re proud and excited to be introducing our two new iTero scanning systems that will enable greater efficiency and conversion for doctors, and a vastly improved patient experience,” Invisalign® ANZ managing director Karen McGoldrick said.

These product developments come following the success of iTero scanning technologies, which have been used in over 2.6 million restorative crown, bridge, and custom cases, and more than 7.6 million iTero orthodontic scans, including more than 3.7 million Invisalign® treatment related scans worldwide.
