Among a range of grants and scholarships that the ADA awards to provide extra support for the dentists of tomorrow, their annual study grants for Indigenous and rural and remote dental students are of particular importance.
They seek to address two critical issues in Australian dentistry: the prevalence of oral disease among Indigenous Australians and the challenge of delivering viable dental care outside major population centres.
Indigenous dental students and students from rural and remote regions are encouraged to apply for these grant programs, which total $60,000.
Applications open on 20 January and close on 31 March.
