Dr Kathleen Walsh, owner of Yarra Valley Dental in Yarra Glen, was recently awarded the Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch (ADAVB) and BOQ Specialist $10,000 Practice Bursary.

The bursary, in its third year, acknowledges dental practices committed to quality learning and aims to fund further professional development for practitioners as well as professional staff members.

“The ADAVB values commitment to quality training for all staff within the dental practice so all practice staff members are involved in the best care of their patients,” ADAVB president Dr Susan Wise said.

“Our partnership with BOQ Specialist recognises that together we promote continuing education for all dental staff. This year’s deserving recipient, Dr Kathleen Walsh, and her team, are committed to staff training and the value of this training has real benefits on the health of their patients and the wider community.”

Commenting on the bursary, BOQ Specialist national head of Partnerships, Dianne Stewart said: “BOQ Specialist’s partnership with ADAVB has once again recognised an outstanding recipient in Dr Kathleen Walsh. This bursary symbolises their commitment towards learning and the pursuit of the highest quality of dentistry.”

BOQ Specialist CEO, Dr Brett Robinson concluded: “Over the 25 years BOQ Specialist has provided distinctive banking solutions to dentists, we have continually seen the benefits and opportunities that upskilling and ongoing training brings to practices. We congratulate Dr Walsh for her focus on delivering the highest quality care to her patients through continuous education for her and her team.”

Dr Walsh and Yarra Valley Dental will be profiled by the ADAVB and in BOQ Specialist’s own Best Practice publication.

The bursary includes $10 000 which can be utilised for training programs and registration to ADAVB CPD courses, as well as a Certificate of Recognition and a crystal trophy.
