The Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) has congratulated ADIA Life Member, Nigel Davis AM— currently the territory manager responsible for South Australia and Northern Territory for A-dec Australia—on the receipt of his Member of the Order of Australia honour received as part of the recent Queen’s Birthday honours.
“Nigel has received his AM for significant service to the manufacturing and supply of dental products and ADIA is grateful to Nigel for his many contributions to the Association and the dental industry over the years,” ADIA chief executive officer Kym De Britt said.
Davis has previously served in many levels of leadership in ADIA, including as the national president, as a member of the Board, and as the South Australian branch president and secretary.
Davis received ADIA’s Meritorious Service Award in 2010 and in 2018, was made a Life Member of ADIA, an honour that has been bestowed upon only 16 people since 1983.
Davis has also served the broader dental industry by serving as the director of the Australian Dental Research Foundation, representing the dental industry globally on the General Council of the International Dental Manufacturers, and as a HE-023 Committee Member for Standards Australia.
He is still serving the International Standards Organization’s ISO-TC106 technical group which he has been a part of since 1998.
“There are few people in ADIA’s history that have contributed as much to the industry as Nigel has,” De Britt said. “He is more than deserving of receiving the honour of Member of the Order of Australia.”
