Surpassing the 100,000 supporter mark, the Facebook page run by the Australian Dental Industry Association has grown to become one of the largest not-for-profit social media communities in the nation.
“Our vision is for an industry that empowers oral health professionals to advance the health and wellbeing of all Australians,” ADIA CEO Troy Williams said. “The strong support for ADIA’s Facebook page is a sign that our vision resonates clearly with so many people.”
ADIA uses social media engagement to highlight the issues important to dental product manufacturers and suppliers.
“Our Facebook page, along with other social media, has been an important tool in our policy advocacy strategy to secure the reforms that government needs to make. ADIA is telling a story about how government can act to bring about the changes required to allow member businesses to grow, create jobs and operate sustainably,” Williams said.
Social media has also played a large role in ADIA’s efforts to raise the profile of the dental industry and showcase the contribution that manufacturers and suppliers make to the provision of dental care.
Williams concluded: “A major focus of ADIA is on building collaborative partnerships across not only the dental community, but also the broader dental community. We leverage our social media tools to achieve this by promoting the great story that the dental industry has to tell.”
