A new research award that will help the dental industry empower oral health professionals to advance the health and wellbeing of all Australians has been created by the Australian Dental Industry Association.

The ADIA Research Grant will be bestowed annually with an initial value of $25,000 and will be managed by the Australian Dental Research Foundation (ADRF).

“ADIA is pleased to provide this funding to the ADRF to support research into issues that will benefit both the dental industry and dental professionals,” said Troy Williams, ADIA chief executive officer.

“In many ways, this grant symbolises the symbiotic relationship that exists between the two sectors of Australia’s dental and oral health community.”

ADIA has provided the ADRF with an initial grant of $67,000 to fund the annual award which will be augmented with further donations made by ADIA and its dental industry partners.

Williams added: “ADIA’s objective is to create the nation’s pre-eminent dental research grant that will provide a platform to look into the issues that will sustain initiatives that allow stakeholders to collaborate on pathways to help all Australians improve their oral health.”
